CAUSE . . . . You are attempting to add a new journal entry from an existing journal entry that contains multiple G/L dates. This is an attempt to add a duplicate record because journal entries with different G/L dates will have duplicate line numbers. The journal entry line number is part of the unique key to the General Ledger file (F0911) and therefore cannot be duplicated.

RESOLUTION. . Inquire on the existing journal entry that you wish to add your new journal entry from, WITH a G/L date. Put an ‘A’ in the action code to add, change any of the other fields for the new journal entry and press ENTER.
